Distortion, mixed media photography.
Semester1
I have always been inspired by mixed media photography, combing different medias to photographs makes it look so much more interesting to me which is why I decided to continue with mixed media photography for my final year of university. This year I want to focus more on Distorting the image and making it look it look completely different to the original. I also want to lean more towards abstract painting and printing on top of a photograph
Developing my Ideas.
The first thing I started with is looking at inspiration and work I am interested in doing this semester. This mixed media pieces are some that really grabbed my attention. Looking at the different ways they applied the paint. Most of these art pieces looks like they've used Oil paint and digital work and maybe some printing on top of they're photographs. This kind of mixed media, I want Would be interested in doing this year. Focusing more on the media and how it completely changes the images and gives it meaning. I am mainly intrigued to try these organic techniques myself to see what I can create.

Experimenting with different types of photography.
The first week of the first semester, I really struggled to come up with new idea, looking at the research I did, there was one artist in particular which stood out to me. His photography was more landscape and documentary based, so I decided to try something similar.

These photographs I took in a park were a combination of landscape and portraiture. I picked my favourite 4 images which I thought looked best.
Experimenting on my photographs

These four mixed media pieces were all inspired by the artist Gerhard Richter. I found him when I did my Art research. to get this effect, I used some card board and a pallet knife with using acrylic paint.
