Gallery Visits

Laing Art Gallery- Chris Killip

This exhibition really stood out to me, with the style of photography being 'documentary photography' set in the 1970's. It captures the industrial estate in the North east of England. The artist Chris Killip was intrigued by ships and how they were built.

Baltic Art Gallery- Rasheed Araeen

This exhibition was really interesting to look at. Artist Rasheed Araeen is an artist that studies politics from his country Pakistan, UK and Vietnam. He expresses his political views through a wide variety of art mediums but mainly focuses on sculpture, collages and painting. I really enjoyed how he was so passionate about politics and how he expressed himself.

The Biscuit Factory

This particular gallery showcases over 200 pieces of art from different artists in the UK. There was a wide range of art from photography, printmaking and even sculpture. This was my most favourite gallery that I visited as it was great to see lots of variety and see smaller artists come together and showcase all their art work to become more well known in our community.
